Quantities and containers


At the  Greengrocer’s, Baker’s, Butcher’s

Half a dozen (six) eggs
A bottle of ketchup / milk
A carton of orange juice
A tin of tuna / baked beans
A package of butter / sliced bread
A link of (some) sausages
1 or 2 pieces of pork chop, bacon
Half a kilo, a quarter…, 125 grammes of fruit and
vegetables

SHOP ASSISTANT: Good Morning! Can I help you?
CLIENT 1: Can I have some fruit, please?
SHOP ASSISTANT: Yes, of course. There are some apples, some pears, some lemons...
CLIENT1: Umm...two pears and three apples, please.
CLIENT 2: Can I have some milk, please?
SHOP ASSISTANT: Yes, of course. There's some milk, one bottle?
CLIENT 2: Yes please.
CLIENT 3: Can I have some fish?
SHOP ASSISTANT: No, sorry. We haven´t got fish. There's some tuna.
CLIENT 3: Okay, two cans please.
CLIENT4: Can I have some juice?
SHOP ASSISTANT: Yes, of course. There's some orange juice, one carton?
CLIENT4: Okay, one carton of orange juice, please.
CLIENT 1: How much is it?
SHOP ASSISTANT: : It’s 20 pounds please.
CLIENT 2: Here you are.
SHOP ASSISTANT: Thank you! Bye.
