Learn English Grammar: USE, USED, and USED TO

Learn English Grammar: USE, USED, and USED TO: How do you use the verb USE? The answer is, in several different ways! In this lesson, I will explain how to use this common verb, with lots of examples from everyday English. We will also look at the difference between used and used to, which can mean two very different things. Thanks for watching!

1.To use (verbo) significa utilizar.

- USED TO + INF: para hablar de acciones repetidas en el pasado.
                       - I used to sleep 8 hours every night
                   * Se puede usar would para contar acciones repetidas: We would buy croissants every day
No se usa en presente. Para hábitos presentes tenemos USUALLY:

                       -I usually walk to work
2. Used (adjetivo) significa acostumbrado
- BE USED TO + ing (pq. TO es una prep.): estoy acostumbrado a una situación nueva
                    - I'm not used to sleeping with a duvet
GET USED TO + ing: me estoy acostumbrando (o no) a una situación nueva
                    - I can't get used to working at night
                    - I haven't got used to doing
